industrial polymer floors

Our company installs industrial polymer floors, effectively using innovative construction technologies and materials. Thanks to strict compliance with technological regulations, we guarantee the functionality and durability of the floor.

The high requirements for industrial self-levelling floors are due to the need for quality coatings in various types of premises (from production to storage). Their advantages are:

  • High abrasion resistance;
  • Chemical resistance (to acids, alkalis, fuels and lubricants);
  • Ease of maintenance;
  • Dedusting the floor surface
  • Complete waterproofing.

Speaking of the main criteria for choosing special coatings, emphasis should be placed on mechanical stability and resistance to temperature fluctuations. That is precisely why this type of flooring is effectively used at enterprises related to the food industry, bottling lines, bakeries and other production facilities.

Types of polymer coatings

Laying polymer floors means strictly following the technology and drawing on knowledge of the existing types of polymer coatings (from their features to their functional characteristics). Such a competent approach is necessary to eliminate any technological discrepancies and reduce the cost items associated with estimating.

Practically the entire range of polymer compounds belongs to thin-layer coatings applied to the surface of concrete floors. The only exception is highly filled floors up to 100 mm thick. To provide the required functionality for the future coating, two types of binders are often used: polyurethane compound or epoxy resin. Based on their percentage content and the additives present, the key characteristics are formed.

  • Among the types of self-levelling floors, the following stand out:

    • Polyurethane, consistently in demand, guaranteeing excellent quality regardless of area or room layout. They have no joints or seams, do not become a place for dirt to accumulate, and are designed for virtually endless use while retaining a perfectly smooth and even surface;
    • Methyl methacrylate, whose installation must be carried out exclusively by professionals paying maximum attention to following the technological process;
    • Polyurethane-cement types are best suited to auto workshops, washing bays or industrial facilities where work is carried out with aggressive liquids, oils and hot steam;
    • Epoxy the floors are ideal for retail, residential or industrial buildings, withstand any pressure and are practically not subject to abrasion.

    Antistatic polymer floors  to create coloured and aesthetic, antistatic (charge-dissipating) floor coatings on concrete and cement screeds in industrial, commercial, warehouse and exhibition areas, for example for zones in electronics manufacturing, computer laboratories, solvent storage or places with explosive substances

Technology and installation

We strive to comply with all stages of the technological process, laying polymer floors turnkey and following the technological chart. At the preliminary stage we examine the flooring to identify existing pits, unevenness and cracks. Based on this inspection, specialists proceed to preparation, which involves cleaning the floor, removing dust and debris, and applying a primer.

Then we prepare the working mixture using a construction mixer. When pouring the prepared compound, the planned thickness must be observed. At the next stage we remove air bubbles to achieve a smooth and stronger coating. In the final stage, surface treatment is carried out to ensure a perfectly smooth floor.

Stages of work

Pouring polymer floors consists of several essential stages:

    1. Preparing the base, starting with shot blasting or grinding the concrete surface to remove defects, laitance and dirt.
    2. Pouring the mixture together with levelling.
    3. Compaction using a spiked roller. This is necessary to eliminate air spread and ensure even distribution of the mixture.
    4. Applying varnish to protect the floor and give it decorative properties.

Cost

Price is calculated based on the coating area per m2. The order amount is calculated depending on the size of the facility and the chosen material. The larger the application (laying) area, the lower the cost per m2.

The cost estimate is determined after drawing up the necessary plan covering the entire technological chain, from dismantling the old coating and the zero cycle to the direct pouring and grinding of the floors. The final cost depends on the area of the room and the condition of the old flooring.
